POLICIES, RATES AND OTHER INFORMATIONS:
I have been a preschool teacher since 1995.
I use the three basic rules from creative curriculum:
1. Be kind to others
2. use your words
3. take care of your property.
These are the three principal rules that are taught to the children while they are here.
Children learn best when the rules are consistant and NEVER change.
In the year I have been doing this the children who have been me the longest know what
is expected of them. This gives children a sense of security and control knowing what the expected mode of behavior is.
I am fair and nurturing with ALL the children. I DO NOT play favorites. This way
a child knows you will always have their back and they can ALWAYS depend on you when something goes wrong.
The condo that I use is set up CENTER style. Meaning you will find a manipulative
center, home center, writing center, a cozy corner, and I'm working on a science and exploration area.
My eventual goal is to expand to a larger facility (a house) and have a small staff.
My goal right now is to keep the numbers low to provide quality over quantity.
This is a combined effort between provider and parent. This endevour is ABOUT THE CHILD
and that should always be kept in mind. If I have concerns regarding your child's development I will let you know in
daily progress reports and conversations that I have with you daily.
If you have concerns about your child's development you are more than welcome to ask
but please keep in mind parents do not dictate policy or curriculum.
PRICES:
I charge $500.00 a month for full time care. Evening care is also available please
contact us for rates.
sporadic drop in evening rates are available.
SICKNESS AND ILLNESS:
I strongly advice parents that if they suspect their child is ill to please keep them
at home. I do not have an additional room and staff for your child to be here. If your child has a FEVER you will be asked
to pick them up.
In order to return your child will need a clean bill of health. This is much more
of an inconvinience then simply keeping them at home.
I strive to keep the children as healthy as possible by hand washing, washing any toys
that go into the mouth, washing toys weekly in a watered down bleach solution.
I teach children simply things like covering their mouths and nose when they sneeze,
washing their hands, using a tissue when necessary and basic hygine as a part of their daily living skills.
